Hannan House 2 is a mid-century modern home built and lived in by artist Shirley Hannan in 1973. Located in the Bayside suburb of Beaumaris on Port Philip Bay, the house was designed by Ms Hannan herself in collaboration with her friend and colleague, architect Joe Palliser, and adopted a particular 70’s style with earthy natural materials throughout.

Committed to a full restoration, the current owner spent several years of work on the house before the studio was engaged to complete the restoration and update the original kitchen. The studio’s ambition for the project revolved around honouring the unique pedigree of the house and sensitively bringing it into the 21st century.
